Clarence James Treible passed in his sleep Dec. 13th at the VNA Hospice House after a brief battle with several cancers. He was 89 years old . Born in East Stroudsburg on October 13th, 1927, he was the son of the late Harry E. and Clarissa (Snearley) Treible. He graduated from Stroudsburg High School, class of 1945. The following year he entered the Air Force, stationed at Tinker Field in Oklahoma. After being discharged he was employed by Patterson-Kelly for 23 years as a chief inspector . He left there to persue his dream of being an owner/operator of an 18-wheeler. After retirement he drove the employee bus at Fernwood for a short time and did private chauffeur work. He was very proud of his Commercial Airplane Single Engine license, but more so the fact that since he owned his first car at 15 years old, he personally changed the oil in every vehicle he ever owned. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting , and restoring vehicles damaged in car accidents. He always read Time and Newsweek from cover to cover. And he especially enjoyed a couple of beers in the basement with the guys. He was a member of the American Legion, with many friends there, and the NRA. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia McGauran and Holly Treible , a half-sister Evelyn Taylor, all of East Stroudsburg, and his beloved kitty Pumpkin. He was predeceased by a brother, Harry B Treible, a half-brother Mitchell Treible, a sister Clara Gilmartin, and his best buddy Taffy. Burial will be private at the convienience of the family. Memorial donations can be made to Monroe Animal League, P.O. Box 23, Stroudsburg, Pa. 18360 or AWSOM, P.O. Box 13, Stroudsburg, Pa. 18360. A true celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
