Clara Lynn Smith

Clara Lynn Smith, 68, of Stroudsburg. Passed away on Friday February 3, 2017 at Saint Luke’s Hospital - Monroe Campus. Born July 29, 1948, in Morris County, New Jersey the daughter of the late Carlton and Joyce (Keeffe) Phelps. She was resident of Monroe County for the past 30 years, and prior to that of Sparta, New Jersey. She was a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pen Argyl. Clara earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the former Glassboro State College now Rowan University in New Jersey. Prior to her retirement, Clara worked as a supervisor and route manager at the Star Ledger Newspaper for 20 years. Clara is survived by her son Jared Smith and his wife Jaclyn of Gouldsboro, her daughter Halle Smith and her companion Greg Kemp Jr. of Greeley, Colorado; and her sister Barbara Gunn of Geneva, New York. Clara was predeceased by her son Adam Daniel Smith in 2009. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg is in charge of the arrangements.
