Charlie Jimenez-Hernandez, 58, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family, due to being a first responder of 9/11. He was the husband of Miriam (Collado) Jimenez, they were married December 22, 1989. Born November 15, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of Carlos Jimenez and Anna Hernandez. He was a resident of Stroudsburg since 2000 and prior to that of Brooklyn, NY. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during peacetime. Charlie started his career in City service with the Department of General Services (DGS) in 1994 and was a member of the DDC family since its inception in 1997. Charlie remained a dedicated professional who served as a Project Manager at DDC's Public Buildings Division and Build-it-Back. He also proudly answered the call to assist during the devastation of 9/11. In addition to his wife, Miriam Jimenez he is survived by his son, Carlos Israel Jimenez. There will be a viewing on Sunday October 22, 2017 from 12pm to 4pm at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg. A Catholic prayer service will begin at 3:30pm.
