Catherine L. Krautkremer, 78, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital Monroe Campus, in Bartonsville, PA. She met the love of her life, Philip T. Krautkremer in 1960 and they got married on May 5, 1962. They shared 58 years and 9 months of marriage. Born in East Stroudsburg on September 4, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Newton and Mary Arlene Fritz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother James Fritz, her sister Joan Kopfer, her nephew James Carlton Fritz, and her great grandchild Jessie Krautkremer. Catherine, also known as Cathy or Cookie, was a member of the Pocono Quilters Association and The Friendly Quilters. She spent many hours working tirelessly on making quilts for others. Whenever someone needed a button sewed or a patch placed, Cathy was there to fix it. She was very crafty and enjoyed making dresses for her granddaughters when they were little. Additionally, she was a member of St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church in East Stroudsburg, PA. Catherine was the loving mother of six sons and considered her daughters-in-law to be her own. She was a beautiful, selfless woman who loved to spend time with her family. She will be sorely missed by her family and especially by her furry friend Buddy. He is already cuddling with the blanket they shared and is missing her dearly. She is survived by her loving husband Philip; her six sons, Philip Krautkremer Jr. and his significant other, Tina of North Carolina; James Krautkremer and his wife Tammy of Northampton, PA; Daniel Krautkremer and his wife Susan of Delaware Water Gap, PA; Michael Krautkremer and his wife Brenda of St. Petersburg, FL; Richard Krautkremer and his wife Julie of Pen Argyl, PA; and Joseph Krautkremer and his wife Alicia of Allentown, PA. She was the proud grandmother of David Krautkremer and his wife Jennifer, Nichole Krautkremer, Crystal Krautkremer, Kelly Krautkremer, Keith Krautkremer and his wife Nicole, Amanda Reinhard, Greg Krautkremer, Kayleigh Murphy and her husband Caleb, Sam Krautkremer, Kaitlyn Krautkremer, Claudia Krautkremer and Gage Krautkremer. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Kenzie, David Jr, Kaitlyn, Colt, Haylie, Karlee, Zane, Zachary, Lilliy and great-great grandchildren Aliviya and Karson, many nieces, nephews and grand-dogs. The family would like to send sincere thanks to her daughter in law Susan, who spent the past several months taking care of Cathy. At her request, there will not be a viewing. Cremation will take place at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home in Stroudsburg, PA. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
