Carolyn J. Chase

Carolyn J. Chase, 87, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Saturday May 4, 2019 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono. She was the widow of James Chase Sr. Born September 20, 1931 in East Stroudsburg the daughter of the late John F. and Martha M. (Strunk) Smith, she was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. Carolyn was a Girl Scout Leader, she was also an active member of the East Stroudsburg ‘s Acme Hose Company #1 Auxiliary for many years. Carolyn is survived by 4 children Nadine S. Sharer and her husband Gary of Tobyhanna, Jerome K. Chase of Henryville. Yvonne C. Owen and her husband John of Henryville and Michelle L Williams and her husband Mark of East Stroudsburg; her grandchildren Jamie Lee, Justin, Christopher and Ashley; and her great grand daughter Lillyonnah. She is also survived by her brother Richard F. Smith and her sister Lydia “Dolores” Mosier, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 4 children David Chase, Lorraine Chase, James R. Chase Jr, and Michael Chase. There will be a visitation on Friday May 10, 2019 from 3:00pm to 4:30pm with memorial services at 4:30pm at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg with Pastor Margie Good officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family the family in care of the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North Street, Stroudsburg PA 18360
