Picture Carolee Ann Svopa, 75, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Thursday December 29, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Robert James Svopa Sr., they were married for 57 years. Born February 3, 1941 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Louis and Agnes (Friewald) Rohde. She was a resident of Monroe County since 1987 and prior to that of Blairstown, New Jersey. She was member of The Church of Saint Matthew, East Stroudsburg. Prior to her retirement, she worked at United Penn Bank in Marshalls Creek; prior to that she worked at the Blairstown Pharmacy for many years. Carolee loved to bake, sew and make candy; she and her husband Bob also enjoyed their trips to the casino In addition to her husband, Carolee is survived by her daughter, Susan M. Russo and her husband Gene of Hackettstown, New Jersey; her 2 sons, Robert J. Svopa Jr. and his wife Dianne of Marshalls Creek and Michael J. Svopa and his wife Mildred of Kunkletown. Her 2 grandchildren Alena Marie and Dana Lynn Russo. She is also survived by her brother Jerry Rohde and his wife Chris, her brother in law Peter Zepka and sister in law Patricia Rohde, all of Johnstown, PA, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carolee was predeceased by her sister Bette Zepka and her brother Thomas Rohde. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday January 4, 2016 at 10:00am at the Church of Saint Matthew, 200 Brodhead Avenue, East Stroudsburg. Cremation will follow. There will be a viewing on Tuesday January 3, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg. Burial of her cremated remains will be interred at the convenience of the family in the Ramseyburg Cemetery, Knowlton Township, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2158 West Main Street, Stroudsburg PA 18360
