Beth M. Shields

Beth M. Shields, 49, of Jackson Township, passed away on Saturday December 10, 2016 at her home. She was the wife of Mark A. Shields, they were married for 6 years. Born July 1, 1967 in East Stroudsburg, the daughter of Lois (Rice) Zibulnik and the late Barry Ott. She was a resident of Monroe County for the past 6 years, and prior to that of Bangor. Beth was a member of the Effort United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Ladies Industrial League at the Blue Valley Bowling Lanes in Wind Gap; she graduated from Bangor High School with the Class of 1985. Currently she was working with her husband at Twin Pines Camp, Conference and Retreat Center in Jackson Township; prior to that she owned and operated Beth’s Country Salon in Bangor. In addition to her husband and mother, Beth is survived by her daughter Brianne Brodt of East Bangor; her stepson Colton Shields and stepdaughter Emily Shields both of Bartonsville. She is also survived by her brother Brent Ott of Belvidere, New Jersey, her 2 sisters Lori Benton of Bangor and Leann Fanelli of Fogelsville, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Sunday December 18, 2016 at 3:00pm at the Effort United Methodist Church, 178 Merwinsburg Road, Effort with Pastor Robin Fisher officiating. There will be a viewing on Sunday December 18, from 1:30pm until the time of the services at church. Burial will be private in the Saint John’s Evangelical Congregational Cemetery of Bartonsville.
