Bessie Macgregor

Bessie (Benedetta) MacGregor, 91, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on August 24, 202 at the Gardens at Stroud. She is the wife of John Eugene MacGregor, they were married July 18, 1959 in Jersey City, New Jersey; she met her husband while teaching dance at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Born October 25, 1928 in Bayonne, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Alfonso and Pauline ( LaSocco) Friscia. Bessie was a Graduate from Bayonne High School with the Class of 1947. She worked as the Manager for a life Insurance Company in New York City. Bessie loved to travel, especially enjoying trips back to Sciacca, Italy, he mother’s birthplace; and loved to spend her winters at her home in Fort Pierce, Florida. She was well known for her love of animals, she showed Arabian Horses, she loved her Poodles and would always donate to take care of stray dogs and cats. Memorial services will be held at a later date. The Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg is in charge of the arrangements. Since Bessie donated for the welfare of animals in need, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Animal Welfare Society of Monroe, (AWSOM) PO Box 13, Stroudsburg PA 18360.
