Bernice Elisabeth Goldsboro Wallace was born on May 10th, 1948 to the late Walter Goldsboro and Valrie Lucia in New York, New York. She was raised by her grandparents who taught her family values that she lived by. As a child she went to church which explained her spiritual beliefs. In September of 1972, Bernice wedded Kirk D. Wallace, a union which lasted over 45 years. For many years, she was a stay at home mother to their five children. She later worked almost 10 years as a secretary. When the business came to an end, Bernice went back to school and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. That path landed her late career, as a Case Worker for Episcopal Social Services. She helped families who were in danger of being separated, stay together. Bernice retired in 2005 and She and Kirk moved to Pennsylvania to their new home. No words can truly express how loved Bernice was and endured by everyone who knew her. She was one of a kind, loved, admired and respected. Bernice was a natural caregiver and personal mentor to many. If you needed advice, Bernice was the person, if you needed an ear, Bernice was the person. If you needed to simply just have a cigarette, drink and laugh, Bernice was the person. Yes, that mean look and tell it like it is attitude would intimidate you, but knowing and understanding her was a privilege. We will all miss Bernice’s cooking (especially her fried chicken) and great times with her. God called for Bernice on Monday, September 3rd, 2018. Once again, heaven gained an Angel.
