Arthur Lee Jr.

Arthur Lee Jr., 87, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Wednesday February 14, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Anna H. (Gower) Lee, They were married for 56 years. Born August 3, 1930in East Stroudsburg, the son of the late Arthur Lee Sr and Bessie (Counterman ) Smith. He was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. Arthur was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. Prior to is retirement he worked for the former Bear Automotive in Bangor. He was a member of the George N. Kemp American Legion Post #346 and also a former member of the Moose Lodge. In addition to his wife, Arthur is survived by his children, Arthur Lee III “Skip” and is wife Billie Jo of East Stroudsburg, Anna M. Gaston and her husband Joseph of Bartow FL, Annette E. Wade and her husband Richard of Melbourne, FL, and Allen R. Lee of East Stroudsburg. His grandchildren Joseph and Josh Gaston, Jimmy Daniel, and Samantha Pennell; and his great grandchildren Randolph and Hailey Pennell and Ellie Mae McGuire. He is also survived by his siblings, Wilma Rinker and her husband James of East Stroudsburg, Frederick H. Lee of East Stroudsburg and Katherine Ferrante and her husband John of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Roy Lee Funeral services with military honors will be held on Sunday February 18, 2018 at 3:00pm a the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg. Cremation will follow. There will be a viewing on Sunday from 1:00pm until the time of the service.
