Allen Green

Allen Greene, 87, of Bushkill, Pa. passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019 at his home, accompanied by his wife, Carol A (Peragallo) Greene. He was predeceased by his first wife, Marie (Griffin) Greene, and 2 brothers, Vincent and Richard Greene. He was born February 24, 1932 in Jersey City, N.J., the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Kimbach) Greene. He resided in Pike County since 1989 after retiring from Grief Steel Container Co. in Jersey City as their accountant. He was a member of The church of Saint John the Apostle. Allen was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War. He worked at several jobs in Pa., such as Fernwood timeshare and Stroud Jewelers, then volunteered for many years at Middle Smithfield Elementary school, where he was loved by teachers and children alike. In addition to his wife, Carol, Allen is survived by his two daughters, Lynne Stettler and Jamme Greene (Ksiez), and 6 step-children, Peggy Pak, Frederick Christiansen, Marie Christiansen, Robin Raffensberger, Patricia Smeltz, and Barbra Brink. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. There will be viewings on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm at Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg Pa. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 7, 2019 at 10 am at the church of Saint John, 5171 Milford Road, East Stroudsburg with Father Gregory A Reichlen as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Sandhill Cemetery, Shoemakers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: the Church of Saint John or the cancer society.
