Allan Herbert Erbe, 80, passed away on Wednesday May 31, 2023, at the Lehigh Valley Hospice House, East Stroudsburg. Having endured many back surgeries over the past 20 years and a diagnosis of Myasthenia Gravis, he died from respiratory failure.
Born in Washington, Iowa, the second son of Wesley A. and Margaret C. Erbe on November 23, 1942.
A graduate of Shaker Heights High School in 1961, he attended then graduated from Case-Western Reserve University, Cleveland Ohio with interim service in the US Army from September of 1964 to April of 1967, he then completed his undergraduate degree at Case-Western Reserve.
Allan went on to the University of Pennsylvania completing a master’s degree from Wharton School of Business. His work history started in sales at IBM, going on to provide technical writing services through his company, KEA Business Systems, Inc, and concluding his employment as a Technical Writer with EBS Dealing Resources, Parsippany, New Jersey.
He was an avid and semi-professional photographer since high school, meeting Elda Grace McCoy, his wife of 30 years, at a wedding he was photographing for a mutual friend.
He was a lover of music, especially Classical, Blue Grass, and Folk and was a Volunteer at The Philadelphia Folk Festival in the early 1980’s
He was loved and liked by many and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Elda of Stroudsburg, his two brothers Richard and his wife Sally of East Aurora, NY and James and his wife Janet of Davenport, FL and nieces and nephews.
No service is planned, and the Bensing Thomas Funeral is in charge of his cremation arrangements.
