Waterford – Albert Murdoch Nyveldt, 85, of Stroudsburg, formerly of Waterford, Connecticut, died Sunday, April 21, 2024, in East Stroudsburg PA. He was the loving husband of Joan Ann Nyveldt, they were married 54 years.
Born in Norristown PA on December 4th, 1938; the son of Albert Leonard Nyveldt and Margaret (Murdoch) Nyveldt. After graduating from New London High he found his way to Electric Boat and took pride in his work as a machinist, helping build the Los Angeles and Ohio classes of submarines. In his years in CT, Bert was baptized at First Baptist Church of Waterford, and enjoyed worship services and activities at Groton Bible Chapel.
After moving to PA he attended Calvary Baptist Church of Stroudsburg Pa. In his retirement he enjoyed working with his hands, particularly when it came to cars, taking care of his plants and dog Bandit, and spending time visiting his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons; Al Nyveldt and wife Shelah, their children Elizabeth, Jack, Briana, and Landon of Bainbridge Pennsylvania; Andrew Nyveldt and wife Jenn , their children AJ, Daniel, Tucker, and Wesley of Roseto, Pennsylvania.
