Maryann D. Getz, 65. Of Stroudsburg, passed away after a brief illness at the
Reading Medical Center, Reading, Pennsylvania. She was the wife of Joel D. Getz
Jr, with whom she shared almost 31 years of marriage, they were married
November 7, 1992.
Born in Queens, New York, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Katherine
(Ricardo) Cordisco. She was a resident of Stroudsburg since 1988, and prior to
that of New York. She and her husband also lived in Elkhart, Indiana.
Maryann worked in food service and retail for many years; some of which were
the former Riccobono’s Mobile Station in Marshalls Creek, McDonalds, Arby’s,
Moe’s and Ruby Tuesdays.
She loved walking the family beagle, Barkley.
Maryann was a kind and giving person, even after her passing, she is still giving
and helping people. She was an organ and tissue donor for the Gift Of Life Donor
Program.
She was a terrific mother and in addition to her husband, she is survived by her
son Joel D. Getz III of Stroudsburg; her sisters Theresa Toennies and her husband
Brian of Hastings, Florida and Patricia Cordisco of West Lake, Ohio; and several
nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother Nicholas Cordisco.
A celebration of life will be announced and held at a later date.
The Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg is in
charge of her arrangements.
