LeRoy C. LaBar Sr., 85, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Friday July 15, 2022, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono. He was the husband of Barbara J. (Phillips) LaBar, they were married for 36 years; and was the widower of Berneda E. (McCarthy) LaBar who died April 27, 1984. Born June 1, 1937, in East Stroudsburg, the son of the late Martin and Bessie (Counterman) LaBar. He was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. LeRoy worked at the former Kulp Foundry in East Stroudsburg for 45 years. In addition to his wife, LeRoy is survived by his children Robin Crowl and Frank of Delaware Water Gap, Leroy C. LaBar Jr and Barbara of East Stroudsburg, Vicky Hull and her husband Charles of Stroudsburg, and Martin LaBar and his wife Sue of McIlhaney. His stepdaughters, Cindy Yowell and her husband Ken of Penllyn, Sue Mery and her husband Mike, Vicky Baechtold and her husband Rod, and Tara Woolever and Mike all of Stroudsburg. His Sister Dorothy Reese and her husband Don of Long Pond, and his brother Richard LaBar of Saylorsburg. He is also survived by many grandchildren and may great grandchildren. LeRoy was predeceased by his sister Leanora Wicks, and his brothers Martin “Peck” LaBar and Phillip LaBar. Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 21, 2022, at 11:00am at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg with Pastor Margie Good officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg, there will be a viewing on Thursday July 21, from 9:00am until the time of the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in LeRoy’s name to Monroe County Meals on Wheels, 901 Polk Valley Road, Stroudsburg PA 18360
