Dennis (Denny) C. Carrig, 77 of East Stroudsburg, PA died on Friday morning November 15, 2024 with his wife Jan at his side.

Born August 5, 1947 in Washington, D.C. the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Viehmann) Carrig, Denny grew up in Trenton, NJ. He graduated from Notre Dame High School, and went on to East Stroudsburg University where he played football.  He earned an M.F.A. From Catholic University in Washington, D.C.

Denny was a true jack of all trades. He worked in construction, he made snow, he was a bartender, a pre-school teacher, an athlete and a musician. His real love was acting. He performed "On Shiloh Hill" at Ford's Theater In Washington, D.C. and went on to do soaps, regional theater, and various T.V. productions, and enjoyed success with the Synchronicity Theater Group in New York City. With every production he became friends with all and maintained those friendships through the years.

In October of 2005, Denny retired from acting and became an owner and proprietor of the Deer Head Inn, a jazz club in Delaware Water Gap. Denny had a beautiful voice and his rendition of "Over the Rainbow" brought a tear to many an eye. He loved singing at Christmas Eve services at the Presbyterian Church on the Mountain in Delaware Water Gap. It is hard to encapsulate everything that Denny did and was to the jazz community and to all who encountered him. His warm, outgoing personality made him special to all who knew him.

He is survived by his five brothers and four sisters in law Philip Carrig of Montera Calif., Linda Carrig of Canton GA. Kevin and Nancy Carrig of Richmond VA. Thomas and Donna Carrig of Sunnyvale, Calif. John and Janet Carrig of Houston, Texas. Christopher Carrig of Bristol, VT and his sister Mary Carrig of Delaware Water Gap and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Patrick and Michael.

A celebration of life will be held sometime in January, when family will celebrate the journey Denny is now on.

At the request of the family memorial donations may be made to Lehigh Valley Hospice House, East Stroudsburg, PA.
